What I have been up to during Quarantine...

For many of us this year was one of forced hermitage.  Like many others I retired at home with my family, within the walls of my new, little flat.  I gave up meeting family and friends and I also gave up my work on Safia.  I am aware that this was a difficult year for many but I have to say that it was definitely a memorable one.  I realised how much I enjoy my home and the people I spend my days with but as soon as I lost my creative output with Safia, my hands started tingling for a new project. So I took up painting.  I got supplies and watched tutorials, made mistakes but also learned a lot.  Learning a new skill was very exciting and very enriching.  Another thing that I took up was having Dungeons and Dragons nights with my kids.  I would make up an adventure through which I would take my kids.  They would create a character for themselves, so my 11 year old daughter would be an elf warrior and my 8 year old son a huge orc and they would spend the night fighting dragons, solving mysteries and finding treasures.  This has been incredibly fun for all of us.  Now hopefully the worst is over and we can start venturing outdoors once more.  I am really looking forward to resuming my work with Safia especially because summer dresses are a great love of mine. I wish us all a wonderful summer and may we all keep growing no matter what the world throws at us.
